Cardinal Wamala celebrates 65th Priestly anniversary

His Eminence Emmanuel Cardinal Wamala has on Wednesday celebrated his 65th Priestly anniversary at his home residence Nsambya.

Cardinal Wamala who is the Archbishop Emeritus of Kampala was joined by the Pope Nuncio Emeritus Archbishop Augustine Kasujja, Kampala businessman Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia who was his special guest, family members among other dignitaries.

In his remarks, His Eminence Wamala thanked Ruparelia for being a good friend to him during his tenure as the Archbishop of Kampala and also during his retirement.

Dr. Ruparellia who organized a special luncheon for the celebrant said Cardinal Wamala has always been his role model because of his wisdom and humility to everyone and thanked God for the chance to visit him.

Archbishop Kasujja who represented the Archbishop of Kampala, His Grace Paul Ssemogerere said it is joyous to celebrate this milestone in Priesthood because there are not many who make it.

He praised God for the protection He has granted to Cardinal Wamala and thanked him for always being a father to everyone.

Cardinal Wamala started his priestly journey at Holy Family Minor Seminary Bukalasa which is in Kalungu district on January 30, 1942.

He completed his clerical studies at Pontifical Urban University, Rome, where he was also ordained a priest of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Masaka on December 21, 1957.
