The Mount Zion Prayer Center Bukalango has launched a marathon to raise funds for completion of the undergoing arena construction project.

The marathon dubbed Bukalango Run-One will take place on October 15th, 2022 targeting to raise at least Shs 200million needed in the second phase to complete the arena commonly known as Outdoor Player Platform.

The whole project is worth Shs400 million and started in June this year through a phased manner.

The first phase that involved the clearing and laying of the foundation, was blessed and commissioned by the Archbishop of Kampala, His Grace Paul Ssemogerere on the Pentecostal Sunday 5th of June 2022.

According to the Marathon Chief Organizer Rev. Fr James Ssebayigga, the Arena will improve on the visibility of the main celebrant and celebration of the holy Eucharist among other prayers which has been difficult due to the current poor site.

As part of the pre-marathon events Fr Ssebayigga says, there will be a Bukalango Run-One exhibition activity from October 13th to 15th where believers and well wishers buy marathon kits at Shs20,000 each for the project.

Meanwhile, Msgr. Expedito Magembe, the proprietor of the center called upon the general public to participate in big numbers in a classification of 3km, 5km and 10km approximately in support of the construction project.

In 90’s, the then Father Magembe founded Mt. Zion prayer Centre Bukalango which started on a small note but has grown over the years to attract many believers from all walks of life.

During mass and prayer sessions, at times numbers become unmanageable forcing other believers to get shelter under the shade of the nearby trees.
