The Uganda Cancer Institute (UCI) is worried of the rising breast cancer cases in the country especially among men.

At least 515 new breast cancer cases were registered last year at the Uganda Cancer Institute of which 37 of them are men.

Currently, the country stands at over 2300 cancer cases in the country yet globally, 2.8 people are suffering from cancer disease.

Dr. Noleb Mugisha, the Head of Advocacy at the UCI attributes the rising breast cancer cases among men to their belief that the disease only affects women and failure to test.

He adds that the disease is genetic and those having it in the family are at risk of developing it.

This month of October is dedicated for breast cancer fight.
