The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) faction led by the party founder member Dr. Kizza Besigye , say they are not concerned with the police letter in regards to their extra ordinary meeting called by the Party National Chairman Amb.Waswa Birigwa on September 19th in Busabala.

Other members in the faction are Vice chairperson FDC Buganda region Erias Ssalongo Lukwago, the party spokesperson Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda and the deputy secretary general Harold Kaija.

It is said a letter signed by the Assistant Inspector General of Police John Niwagira indicated that police was not ready to provide security to the planned meeting since the FDC Secretary General Nathan Nandala Mafabi informed them that they are not aware about the planned meeting.

According to Ssemujju the Public Order Management Act (POMA) directs them to inform police about any event but not asking for their security so their letter doesn’t bother them since the party has its own security starting from village level.

Ssemujju says they are instead happy for the acknowledgement from the police for having received the letter which pushes them forward to conduct the meeting.

He further says the meeting will determine the status of the ongoing illegal selections of party members into leadership and also will extend the term of all leadership with those in office to have more 4-6 months in office to harmonize on the ongoing misunderstandings.

The will also put up an independent electoral commission that will scale up a road map which will see new leaders that have passed through a free and fair election.
