The newly appointed State Minister for Youth and Children Affairs, Balaam Ateenyi Barugahara has vowed to assist in releasing innocent National Unity Platform (NUP) party youth members incarcerated on political grounds.

Barugahara says that after his appointment, a group of NUP youths wrote to him requesting him to intervene in the release of their fellows saying the NUP leadership has not helped them.

He has also promised to work on early pregnancies amongst teenagers and also ensure that justice is attained by the victims.

He made all these after his vetting at Parliament before the Appointments Committee chaired by the Speaker of Parliament Anita Among.

Meanwhile, both the State Minister for Disaster Preparedness Lillian Aber and the State Minister of Energy Phiona Nyamutoro have promised to work with others in the ministries and start from where their predecessors had stopped.
