The Archbishop of Kampala His Grace Paul Ssemogerere has challenged graduates to be outward looking beyond lecture rooms to support Uganda on its road to transform.

In his address at the 29th graduation ceremony of the Uganda Martyrs University-UMU, His Grace Ssemogerere said this university was started to produce students of virtue and skills to change society and also exhibit professional performance and leadership.

Like the theme of UMU’s 29th graduation; Agility, Flexibility and Creativity towards Transformational Change must speak to the graduates as they go out to put in practice their theoretical knowledge and skills.

He said graduates must help to fight the vice of corruption which is failing service delivery to all in Uganda.

Bishop Joseph Antony Zziwa, the Uganda Martyrs University Chancellor thanked members of the Governing Council, academic and non-academic staff and parents for all they have done for this Catholic University in Uganda to shine for its 30 years of existence.

Bishop Zziwa also encouraged the graduates to stay connected to the university through the Alumni association to widen their chances of getting opportunities and always be part of the institution.

A total of 1,673 graduates were conferred academic papers in various academic disciplines from 7 campuses of Uganda Martyrs University at Certificate, Diploma, Degree, Masters level and PhDs in Education, Science and Management, Agriculture, Mass Communication and Journalism and Law among others.
