The Archbishop of Kampala His Grace Paul Ssemogerere has eulogized the late Bishop Emeritus of Hoima diocese, Rt. Rev. Edward Akiki Baharagate whose demise occurred last night at Nsambya hospital.

The news for the death of Bishop Baharagate was confirmed by the Ordinary Bishop of Hoima Catholic Diocese, Rt. Rev. Vincent Kirabo in a statement released by Fr Dominic Ndugwa, the Chancellor Hoima Catholic Diocese saying the Late has been sick for years.

Bishop Baharagate died at the age of 93 at Nsambya Hospital in Kampala where he had been admitted.

His Grace Ssemogerere, while beginning his homily during the Chrism Mass and celebration of the feast as priests at Lubaga cathedral on Thursday morning, noted that the Catholic Church has lost a brain in the Bishop Baharagate.

On the gist of the Chrism day, Archbishop Ssemogerere strongly warned the priests against celebrating mass with excitements which end up diverting the believers from the norms and culture of the Catholic Church.

He emphasizes that priests must focus on preaching based on what they were taught in the formation centers that is in line with the teaching of the Roman Catholic Church instead of creating their own style of preaching such as composing songs that are contrary to the church.

Holy Thursday is the day during Holy Week that commemorates the Washing of the Feet and Last Supper of Jesus Christ with the Apostles, as described in the canonical gospels.

It is the fifth day of Holy Week, preceded by Holy Wednesday and followed by Good Friday.
