The outgoing Leader of Opposition Betty Aol Achan has called for unity in the opposition.

Achan has told journalists at parliament shortly after a courtesy visit by the newly elected speaker of parliament Jacob Oulanyah who was visiting each and every office of administration and leadership at parliament.

Achan said that she regrets for not have been able to fulfill one of the main core targets before the end of her term of office that is coalition and unity among all opposition political parties, adding that with such divisions the opposition can’t experience full democracy nor Uganda can grow in all aspects.

Meanwhile Ochan has also expressed challenges of inadequate funding and conflicts in office that have greatly affected her operations since August 3rd 2018 as a LOP.

She is expected to end her term in a week’s time when National Unity Platform-NUP takes over the office.

Meanwhile, the former Director of Communications in parliament Chris Obore who was outlawed for being in office and told to get a forced leave by the former Speaker Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga has been reinstated in office by the clerk of parliament Jane Kibirige.

All this has been made as the newly elected speaker Jacob Oulanyah paid a courtesy visit to all directorates of parliament.

A big number of parliamentary employees have been seen in a sad mood at the time when Oulanyah was touring parliament as the outgoing speaker Rebecca Kadaga’s office was being cleaned fully to create room for the new speaker.
