The Anti-Corruption Court has set August 22nd, 2023 for further pre-hearing of the matter in which State Minister for Finance and Economic Planning Amos Lugoloobi is accused of misappropriating iron sheets meant for Karamoja sub-region.

On Tuesday, when Minister Lugoloobi returned to court the trial Judge Margate Tibulya read for him two charges which he denied.

The Assistant Director of Public Prosecution -DPP Josephine Namatovu told court that the defense lawyers approached them and requested for more time to compile all the relevant documents they intend to use in the trial.

The defense lawyers led by Tony Tumukunde and John Isabirye have agreed and requested for more two weeks to finalize with the trial documents which the two parties accepted.

Lugoloobi is accused of misappropriating iron sheets meant for Karamoja sub-region.

Prosecution alleges that Lugoloobi, who is also the Member Parliament (MP) for Ntenjeru North constituency in Kayunga district, wrongly obtained 700 pre-painted iron sheets meant for Karamoja sub-region.
