The Bukedea Woman Member of Parliament Anite Among has presented her credentials to the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Electoral Commission to contest for the position of the Deputy Speaker of the 11th Parliament on the NRM ticket.

 

Among is the first person to formally express interest in the position of the speaker ahead of the party’s primary on Sunday.

 

The Chairman of the Commission Dr. Tanga Odoi after receiving her letter plus the curriculum vitae asked her to prepare for the Central Executive Committee interaction on Saturday.

 

Amongi says she wants to strengthen the relationship between three arms of government, improve the welfare of MPs among others.

 

Another MP Tomas Tayebwa has also picked nomination forms for the deputy speakership seat.
