The president of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Patrick Oboi Amuriat (POA) is convinced that they will on Thursday win the case against them before courts of law.

The FDC Katonga faction led by their interim president Erias Lukwago filed a civil suit in the civil division of the high court challenging the planned elections organized by the party’s electoral chairperson Boniface Toterebuka Bamwenda saying that he usurped the powers of the FDC National Chairperson Ambassador Wasswa Birigwa for calling the National delegates conference.

However, on Monday the Deputy FDC Spokesperson John Kikonyogo noted that the party’s Electoral Chairperson only organized elections but he didn’t call for the National delegates’ conference as the Katonga faction alleges.

Now, speaking to the delegates from the central region who have converged at Amuriat’s residence in Najjera, Nakawa division, he noted that he is convinced they will win the case and also abide by the court ruling.

He adds that the term of office for all elected leaders of FDC ends on 7th October and the party may face challenges of deregistration under the political party guidelines which guides them to elect leaders every 5 years.

His comments come at a time when court is set to deliver its ruling this Thursday at midday towards the planned FDC elections by the leaders based at the party headquarters at Najjanankumbi scheduled for 6th October at Patida Samaj Sports ground in Lugogo to elect their new leaders.

Meanwhile, POA has laughed at Lukwago for threatening to take over the FDC headquarters saying that he is a joker and coward who can’t even be at the frontline of any battle whether it’s within the party or towards the government.

Amuriat has also disclosed that in his campaigns he has observed that many of the FDC supporters are disappointed with what’s happening currently in the party because it has divided party members and left them with hatred amongst themselves.
