The Opposition, Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) has unveiled its 2020/2021 electoral roadmap.

 

Alice Alaso the National coordinator in-charge of administration and finance at  a press conference at the party headquarters  today said that they started with candidate identification, Consensus Building, party nominations, party primaries, validation of Academic documents and Training of candidates since June 22nd and will end on 31st this month.

 

Also says they are currently working on holding their delegates conference scheduled to take place on August 6th at a venue yet to be communicated.

 

She has advised all candidates willing to run on ANT ticket to validate their Academic qualifications to avoid consequences.

 

Meanwhile the party spokesperson Wilberforce Sseryazi said they met with National Electoral Commission (EC) and presented their concerns over the revised electoral roadmap mainly the time of campaigns for the Presidential aspirants, allowing candidates to hold town hall meetings among others instead of traditional or virtual campaign.

 

Meanwhile the (ANT) Presidential flag bearer  Gen. Mugisha Muntu, has praised Kasese District Woman Member of Parliament, Winnie Kiiza, for her bold stand to  quit elective politics fifteen years after she entered the House.

 

The former Leader of Opposition announced her position yesterday that took many Ugandans by surprise but she promised to remain active with the forces of change in this country. Now Muntu says political leaders should learn for such personalities if Uganda is to have true democratic processes.

 

At the same meeting Muntu unveiled two new members namely Former minister of internal affairs in the opposition Sarah Kiyingi and current deputy speaker of Makindye Division Ms Aisha Nabasirye Gitter.
