Just a day left for Buganda Kingdom to celebrate the silver Jubilee of Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II on the throne tomorrow July 31st at the main Palace in Lubiri Mengo foreign dignitaries including the guest of honour have already arrived.
Last afternoon the emperor of the empire of Asante His Majesty (HM) Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II, from Ghana who is the guest of Honour at Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II 25 years of celebrations on the throne arrived and is to meet with the Kabaka today in a special seating.
The celebration is marked under the theme; “Nga tujjaguza emyaka 25 egya Jubileeo, Abavuka lye Suubi lyaffe” – Okusitula embeera zabavubuka mukulakulanya obwakabaka.
They are counting on a number of successes achieved materially leading to the transformation of the kingdom and are setting new strategies to further those so far gained.
In the special prayers held in both the Catholic and Protestant Churches the Kabaka, his subjects and the entire kingdom was prayed for to have peace.
The chairman organizing committee Haji Twaha Kawaase who represented the Katikiro Charles Peter Mayiga at Lubaga Cathedral said a 1000 years ago since the kingdom was started it has seen tremendous growth although the wave of poor leadership of 1960s to 1990 challenged its prosperity, it has regained its track under the support of the NRM government which restored cultural leadership.
Kabaka Mutebi and his guest the empire of Asante His Majesty (HM) Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II, from Ghana will on Wednesday visit Quality Chemicals Company Limited Cipla (EU) Limited and later he is also expected to meet with President Museveni at State House Entebbe.
Kabaka Mutebi II 63 years of age is the 36th King on the throne, a son of the late King Mutesa II.
