Government has warned politicians and candidates against violating the Standards Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Ministry of Health guidelines for COVID-19 pandemic, as the campaigns commences today.

The State Minister for ICT Peter Ogwang says that candidates should liaise with police when holding campaigns to avoid the spread of COVID-19 among the supporters.

Campaigns include Presidential, Parliamentary and Local government positions commence today in a scientific method under strict guidelines of Ministry of Health.

However, Ogwanga says those candidates that will insist holding mass rallies will be stopped and arrested by police.

Meanwhile, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Secretary General Justine Kasule Lumumba demands on police and the National Security COVID-19 task force not to allow NRM candidates candidates holding mass rallies that expose people to COVID-19 but instead arrest them just like the opposition.
