Security agencies have revealed that they have intensified their presence in Ntoroko district in Western Uganda to avoid revenge attacks from the Allied Democratic Forces -ADF rebels who were killed following their raid on some of the villages in the district.

The Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF) last week said they killed 17 and arrested 13 Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) rebels after they crossed into Ntoroko District from the Democratic Republic of Congo, in the first known incursion by the group this year.

While addressing the press today at Naguru, Fred Enanga the Police Spokesperson said that the situation in Ntoroko is calm and the security agencies have taken over the control of the situation within the entire district and across the DR Congo borders.

Enanga says that they have however remained at high alert to avoid cases of revenge from ADF rebels.

Similarly, Police together with other sister security agencies have also intensified deployment in the districts of Lamwo and Koboko as well as Uganda- South Sudan border to avoid raids from South Sudan warriors who have been attacking people and stealing their animals.
