The Uganda Business and Technical Examination (UBTEB) has released examination results of Uganda Community Polytechnic Programme Certificate this time in January not in March as it has been.
The Uganda Community Polytechnic Certificate results are from Community Polytechnics and Technical Schools and Farm Schools that admit primary seven leavers.
The certificates are granted after a three-year course and are equivalent to Ordinary Level certificates given to senior four leavers by Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB).
UBTEB Executive Secretary, Onesmus Oyesigye While releasing the results at UBTEB head offices in Ntinda-Kampala, said a total of 4,647 candidates from 113 accredited examination centers registered for the examinations but only 4,283 students which is 92.2 percent sat the papers.
Some 364 students never turned up.
From 4,283 students who sat for examinations, 3,425 students passed while 858 failed
English and Mathematics had an impact on general performance.
Had it not been that effect, he said all students would have passed.
