54 Old Kampala Secondary School students arrested taking drugs

Police are planning to take to court at least 54 students of Old Kampala Secondary School that were allegedly found using drugs at a house party at Nansana in Wakiso district over the weekend.

According to the Police, the suspects were arrested following an alarm from the residents at Kibbulooka, Nansana Municipality in Wakiso district on June 3rd, 2023 complaining about the noise pollution that was coming from the house party.

Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson says that among the 54, eight suspects were girls and all of them possessed Old Kampala S.S student identification cards.

He says that they recovered Shisha pots, Mirra and different types of alcohol from the place where these students were having the house party.

Owoyesigyire says that they are trying to contact the school and identify the parents of these children as they are looking into the aspect of taking them to court over noise pollution and being in possession of intoxication drugs.
