A total of 68 inmates registered as candidates for the PLE exams compared to the 58 registered in 2020 at the Uganda Government Upper Prison School Luzira according to UNEB.

However 63 candidates who sat PLE, 5 passed in Division 1, 34 obtained Division 2, 9 in Division3 and 7 in division 4.

Only one of them was ungraded and five missed the 2022 Primary Leaving Examinations –PLE according to the UNEB Executive Director Dan Odongo.

In regards to performance of the Special Needs candidates, those who have passed are 68 physically handicapped candidates, 41 blinds, 461 partially blind, 263 deaf, and 646 dyslexic and those needed transcribers, 778 those who needed extra time while 55 were absent.

Meanwhile, among the suspects arrested in examination malpractice related cases during the PLE exams, over 10 have been remanded to Prison in Mpigi and Masaka. Others have been released on bail according to Odongo.
