The Joint Security team led by the Police has released a list of 44 suspects so far arrested in Kazo and Kiruhura districts for allegedly involving into cattle theft.
The arrest of these suspects follows an operation commenced in 6th of October 2023 after an outcry from the local leaders over rampant cattle theft in Rwizi region.
Fred Enanga, the Police Spokesperson says that among the 44 suspects, 23 of them have been charged to court and the remaining 21 suspects are soon to be arraigned before court to face similar charges of cattle theft.
According to Enanga, the suspects had specialized in the use of saloon cars like Noah and Premio in stealing cattle and since their arrests, there are no new serious cases registered.
He says that among the suspects on list include; Fred Kamugisha alias Besigye, Jamada Ssentongo, Alex Tugume, Fred Nuwamanya, Dan Buhabwayo and Felix Bwambale among others.
