Twelve pupils have been arrested from Bugolosese Primary School in Buikwe district for alleged impersonation in the Primary Leaving Examinations-PLE.

The twelve suspects were reportedly sitting the mathematics examination for some candidates.

The Public Relations Officer Uganda National Examination Board- UNEB, Jennifer Kalulu Musamba,  says “Scouts became suspicious after they noticed that the people sitting for the examinations were not the ones that appear on the examination register. They were tipped off when one of them wrote a name that was not on the register and crossed it to write one that appears.”

The suspects believed to be between 14 and 15 years of age are locked up at Nyenga Police Station as investigations are ongoing to determine how they were able to access the school.

PLE examinations are ending today already candidates have finished science and are waiting for English in the evening. A total of 695,793 candidates are sitting PLE from 13,475 examination centers countrywide.
