Kasana Luweero Diocese has today received two newly ordained priests, now Rev. Fr. Baale Joseph Mary from Kapeeka Consolanta Parish and Rev. Fr. Julius Lule from Kasaala Parish plus Seven Deacons.

The ordinations ceremony held at Our Lady of Fatima Queen of Peace Cathedral Kasana Luweero was led by Rt. Rev. Paul Ssemogerere the ordinary of the diocese with very few people due to the restrictions of Covid-19.

Bishop Ssemogerere told the newly ordained never to be afraid but know that God has chosen them and is ready to guide and protect them through their services as Christ’s representatives.

He said the new priests and deacons are coming to the world at the time when it is challenged with moral decadence. Priests have to be noble watchmen who have to save human kind than fighting for wealth or materialism. It is a big evil killing the world.

Bishop Ssemogerere also said parents and the parishioners have the duty to support the priests and pray for them but not to be tasking them to provide for their needs.

Bishop Ssemogerere hailed Rt. Hon. Prime Minister for securing clearance for this ordination and promised her that the Catholic Church is ready to follow the laws once places of worship are opened.

The function has been attended by the Prime Minister of Uganda Robinah Nabbanja and State Minister for Higher Education Dr. J.C. Muyingo who is one of the few who support seminarians in the diocese every year.
