Nakaseke district Coronavirus taskforce is in negotiations with health workers to have their private cars registered for travel permits to ease the problem of transport to attend to emergencies.

The targeted vehicles will be availed with Stickers.

Nakaseke District Health Officer Evelyn Musiime says this is as a result of the increased need for vehicles to cover the entire district yet currently they only have two ambulances.

Nakaseke district chairman Ignatius Koomu Kiwanuka says even before Coronavirus was confirmed in the country, the district was still grappling with the problem of transport because most of the vehicles are grounded.

Koomu adds that departments were sharing vehicles and now the Coronavirus pandemic has worsened the situation.

President Museveni in his third national address on March 25th directed all government vehicles to be parked at the district headquarters for purposes of supporting transport means. He also made a passionate appeal to companies and well-wishers to donate brand new vehicles to support the COVID-19 task team via transport.
