Followers of Christ have been cautioned against getting tempted with money before doing anything because it can easily lead them astray like Judas Iscariot who betrayed Jesus.

The advice has been given by the Chairman of Uganda Joint Christian Council (UJCC) Rt. Rev. Bishop Antony Zziwa while addressing Christians that converged at Old Kampala Senior Secondary school Play group in this year’s Ecumenical Public Way of the Cross.

Bishop Zziwa says in Uganda, today money has become a problem and source of disputes in communities, families, political parties among others.

Meanwhile, Bishop Zziwa has advised Christians to love one another and forgive as Jesus Christ did for our sins.

Bishop Zziwa concluded by appealing to all Ugandans to let the suffering, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ touch their hearts and also desist from all kinds of evil, corruption, extrajudicial killings, abduction among others which are the order of the day.

The Prayers pulled Catholics, Anglicans and Orthodox Christians from different corners of the city to mark the Passion of Jesus Christ that leads to the celebration of East Sunday that is to be marked on Sunday March 31st.

UJCC has brought together the three faiths whose leaders; Rt. Rev Bishop Joseph Antony Zziwa who is the Chairman of Uganda Episcopal Conference together with the Archbishop of Kampala Paul Ssemogerere led the Catholics.

The Most Rev. Steven Kazimba Mugalu, the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda led the Anglicans while Metropolitan Jeronymos Muzeeyi led the Orthodox faithful.

This year’s Ecumenical Way of the Cross run under the theme; ‘You shall love the Lord your God … and your neighbour as yourself’ Luke 10:27
