Uganda Martyrs University have been accredited by National Council for High Education for E-learning after fulfilling all the necessary requirements set by the National Council for High Education for open distance and E-learning.

 

Addressing the media at Uganda Martyrs University Lubaga campus, the Vice Chancellor UMU Rev. Fr. Prof. John Chrysostom Maviiri has assured that over 100 academic programs at postgraduate and undergraduate levels have been migrated to the university online learning management system.

 

He noted that while 63.9% of the staff was comfortable with E-learning, 68.7% have been re-trained to facilitate the system.

 

Prof. Maviiri further says that since the lockdown and closer of schools in March this year, 95% of the entire staff has exceeded the required set procures for new methods of teaching given the existence of Covid-19 pandemic.

 

One of the board of directors Ow’ekitibwa John Baptist Walusimbi says besides their watchdog role to the daily operations they want to see Uganda Martyrs University develop to greater heights matching with modern technology and service.
