Muslims world over have flocked mosques to celebrate Eid el Fitir marking the end of the fasting season

 

At Old Kampala the seat of the Muslim faith in Uganda the Mufti of Uganda, Sheikh Shaban Mubajje in his address to the congregation who attended the Eid prayers challenged Muslims to strive for unity to build a peaceful and united country Uganda

 

Mubajje has condemned the increased criminality such as the gruesome murders of innocent Ugandans and also the instability within the Middle East where people have continued to suffer.

 

Meanwhile the leadership of the Muslim Tabliq Sect based at Nakasero Mosque have requested government and President Museveni in particular to encourage courts of law operate independently for the Muslims still in prisons to receive justice.

 

Delivering his speech during the Eid El Fitr prayers at Nakivubo Blue Primary School Play Ground in Kampala, Sheikh Ayub Nyende the Nakasero Tabliq Mosque Secretary General says a number of Muslims are in communicado which is violates human rights

 

This comes at a time when Nakasero Mosque Amir Umah Sheikh Yahaya Mwanje has just been released on bail over charges of murdering Major Muhammad Kiggundu and his bodyguard in March 2017, while many others among them include; Sheikh Yunusu Kamoga, Siraje Kawooya and Bahiga are in Luzira prisons over charges of treason.

Muslim clerics challenged Muslims to avoid celebrating Eid in entertainment places but to spend the day with their families at home and also participate in offering to poor.
