The Head of the State House Investors Protection Unit, Col. Edith Nakalema has noted that they are partnering with the National Information Technology  Authority Uganda (NITA-U) to develop a digital platform that is to protect investors from fraudsters in the country.

The unit was established by President Yoweri Museveni in May 2023 during the celebration to mark the International Labour Day and it was launched on 13th of May this year with the aim to receive and respond to complaints affecting the progress of investments.

Nakalema while speaking at the media breakfast for anti-corruption agencies, proprietors and editors of selected media house in Kampala, noted that the platform will be dubbed Electronic Investors Protection Platform.

She says that both local and foreigners will be required to register through this platform before they proceed with their investment plan and this will protect them from middlemen and other fraudsters.
