Police has disclosed that report in the murder case of Ronald Ssebulime in Kayunga is completed and ready to be forwarded to Office of Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for charges against the culprits.

 

The Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga has told the press at their headquarters in Naguru that a report from a joint team of investigators from the Kampala Metropolitan East Region and Homicide squad from CID headquarters have done their work and the three officers of the 999 patrol namely Corporal Edward Ssali, who was the car commander, Constable Ronald Opira and Constable Ronald Baganza are in custody except PC Robert Cherotich who is still on the run.

 

Enanga added that they have not yet recorded a statement from state Minister for ICT Idah Nantaba but that can’t stop them from proceeding with the case.

 

A way from that Police has cautioned Boda Boda riders against working in the wee hours of the night and advised them to install tracking devices in their motor cycles to avert theft.

 

This follows a police report for the last 3 months January to March 2019 indicating 28 cases of motor cycle theft with 17 suspects arrested and charged. Police recorded 14 murder cases 7 of them occurred between 7pm and 1am, 5 case between 1am and 6 am and only 2 recorded during the day.

 

Besides individual precautionary measures Enanga wants Boda Boda riders to design a whatapp groups for easy communication.
