Police have noted that the seven Kyambogo University guild students who were arrested in the morning while protesting are to be charged for holding illegal assembly.
Today morning, guild members led by the Guild President Koholo Wafula held a demonstration within the campus and later moved of the university to Banda area where police from Kyambogo arrested them while voicing out their several grievances including late payment of government allowances and the unfair surcharges regarding tuition.
Before arrests, students engaged into running battles with the police as the latter tried to stop them from demonstrating
At least seven guild students at Kyambogo University have been arrested for allegedly.
Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan Police says they have been following the issues of these students which the administration is trying to address though the students became impatient.
