The Archbishop of Kampala Archdiocese, His Grace Paul Ssemogerere has noted that properties seen being enjoyed by the clergy are for the church not for individuals.

Archbishop Ssemogerere says that Christians and relatives shouldn’t expect money and demanding material things together with other social needs from the priests like school fees, accommodations and food among others since they are not for their own but for the church.

This was during the ordination ceremony for the two priests and 3 Deacons at St Padre Pio Parish Kabulamuliro in Entebbe Vicariate today.

He explains that the newly ordained priest will be able to drive big cars, wear expensive clothes and eat nice food for the good of the church and the society, but this shouldn’t create beliefs for them to claim for having accumulated the wealth for their own good.

His Grace Ssemogerere however calls on Christians to support and always pray for the priests to live to their calling and reminds the clergies not to be prestigious or make names.

Those ordained priests are now; Fr. Donald Ojobo and Fr. Wilbrod Osangi while the deacons are; Brother Tony Acircan, Brother Walter Murungi and Brother Godfrey Katumba.

To the ordained priests, the Archbishop Ssemogerere first hailed for taking a stand to serve God but also urged them to take courage and always seek for God’s providence in their daily work in the Lord’s vineyard.
