The former Prime Minister Prof. Apollo Nsibambi has noted that the “Yes-men” mislead President Museveni to the extent that he has forgetting his retirement statement made some time back.

While gracing the Elders Forum of Uganda (TEFU) conference in Kampala, Prof. Nsibambi identifies Museveni’s immediate followers as sycophants who only target their own gains without considering the nation.

Prof. Nsibambi served as Prime Minister in the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) government from 1999 until 2011 and was succeeded by John Patrick Amama Mbabazi who also fell out in 2016.

The ex-chancellor Makerere University further challenges those claiming that the constitution discriminates elders and youth, that all legal books have exceptions, advising President Museveni to consider his statement of retiring at the 75years.

Meanwhile; the Elders Forum through their chairman, Justice, James Ogoola warned government of the past mistakes that plunged this country into turmoil emphasizing the need to address the fundamental issues of human rights, good governance and rule of law.

The senior leaders included; Peter Mulira, David Kazungu, Roda Kalema, Margaret Ssekajja, and Prof. Apollo Nsibambi among other who noted with concern the bad governance and leadership full of selfish people to be the root cause of Uganda’s problems

Now the elders call for a national dialogue inform of a debate where all people will share their views and opinion for the good of the country.
