Police have confirmed to have conducted security deployment of its personnel and patrol units at all mosques and worship centers to provide security during this month of Ramadan.

This comes after Saudi Arabia officials spotted the crescent moon and declared the holy fasting month of Ramadan for many of the world’s 1.8 billion Muslims starting today.

Fred Enanga, the Police Spokesperson while issuing the security tips to be followed in the Month of Ramadan on Monday noted that the force will work hand -in-hand with the Muslim clerics and mosque leaderships to ensure the community is safe.

He says that Muslim leaders should create security teams that will work with Police officers on ground at mosques and worship places and also encourage Muslims to take precautions when attending early morning and late evening prayers.

Enanga however says that the Deputy Inspector General of Police Maj. Gen Tumusiime Katsigazi has directed all Police commanders to join Muslims in the prayers and fasting during this month of Ramadan.
