Following successful campaigns for Omoro County parliamentary by-elections in Omoro district, police have shifted their focus on ensuring security tightened on the polling day.

The campaigns for Omoro County parliamentary by-elections are slated to end on Tuesday May 24, 2022 ahead of the polls scheduled on May 26, 2022.

Fred Enanga, the Police Spokesperson disclosed this today saying that they have created perimeter security to all the 84 polling centers in Omoro county.

He says they have only registered two cases contrary to the elections guidelines like campaigning beyond time yet to a larger extent, the campaigns have been successful.

Enanga says that they won’t allow door to door campaigns, intimidation of voters and media manipulation to be conducted in these remaining days of elections.

The opposition parties have already faulted the ruling National Resistance Movement -NRM party candidate Andrew Ojok for allegedly distributing huge amounts of money to voters in different villages and campaign venues both day and night.
