Physiotherapists under their umbrella body Uganda Association of Physiotherapy (UAP) have disclosed that elderly Ugandans aged between 50-59 years are mostly affected with physical inabilities.

According to them, 23 percent of adults have physical inabilities mostly caused by lack of exercise.

The Mulago Hospital Principal Physiotherapist Dr. Richard Kasiita says that Ugandans have failed to believe in professional physiotherapists instead use traditionalists where they end up becoming disabled.

However, he expresses concern of having fake physiotherapists and traditional healers who have damaged their professionals by providing fake services to patients.

Meanwhile, the Chief Coordinator for Sports Science at Mulago Hospital Dr. Annet Nankwanga says they have resorted to hold an awareness health walk from City Square to Villa Park at Nsambya on September 30th under the theme; Movement for health that is aimed at awakening the citizens over the physiotherapy services delivered at Mulago referral Hospital.
