The chairperson of the parliamentary Public Accounts Committee Nandala Mafabi has directed coordinators of funded government project to report to parliamentary CID to record statements for their failure to appear in today’s meeting.
PAC had summoned over 14 coordinators of different projects but only two managed to show-up to answer to the audit queries as per the auditor general’s reports.
The head of the delegation from the Ministry of Finance Diana Kabagambe when asked by the committee where and why the project coordinators had not appeared, she reported that they were attending meetings this triggered anger among committee members like Hon. James Waluswaka who demanded for a motion to conduct a forensic audit on each project and also compel the coordinators who have failed to show up to a forced leave.
Meanwhile The chairperson Nandala Mafabi bended the motion and directed that the respective project coordinators submit their audit query responses before the end of tomorrow and also record a statement to the CID giving reasons of their failure to appear before the close of Friday this week.
Projects under Audit include, Micro Economic Management, You Growth, Development of Industrial parks, Skilled Development project and others.
