The Opposition has conceded not to ever again interfere or fight Parish Development Modal program.

This has been revealed by Butambala County MP Muwanga Kivumbi before the Parliamentary Public Service and Local Government committee as he tabled proposals from the opposition on how to improve and effectively implement the PDM

Kivumbi who is also the chairperson of the Buganda parliamentary caucus emphasized that PDM shouldn’t be politicized as it’s meant to benefit the local and impoverished locals.

Kivumbi’s remarks come month’s after President Museveni issued letters to opposition MPs warning them against ganging and sabotaging PDM especially Muwanga Kivumbi and Nakaseke south MP Paul Lutamaguzi.

He said that they took a decision as political actors from Buganda not to interfere with the PDM, and encouraging people to take advantage of anything government program aimed at benefiting the people.

However, the vice chairperson of the committee, Christine Apolot expressed frustration over corruption embedded within the process of releasing PDM funds confirming receipt of reports of such loopholes perpetuated by committees and some commercial banks which ask for commission before releasing the money.
