Nine districts have yet registered no single COVID-19 case, government has said.

This follows a widespread community transmission across the country with an average of 1900 cases reported weekly from 127 districts and Kampala having the highest number of COVID-19 cases.

The State Minister for Primary Health Care Dr. Joyce Moriku Kaducu told journalists at Media Centre in Kampala today that in the past month, they have witnessed patients with severe forms of the disease accompanied with deaths yet the vulnerable population such as the elderly and those with co-morbid conditions are more exposed.

The Minister further says that they expect the vaccine to jet in the country in mid next year, meaning that people have to continue following the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

Kaducu however, stresses that contacts and alerts of COVID-19 won’t be allowed to travel within or fly away from the country even if they test negative but to stay for 14 days while those intending to leave the country should test in 120hours before they travel contrary to the previous 72hours.
