Police in Nagalama are holding three suspects on allegations of attempted robbery, malicious damage to property and assault.

 

Its alleged that on Tuesday at around 5pm, a team of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) mobilizers had gone to Buntaba Village in Kyampisi Sub County in Mukono District while hanging posters of Hajji Haruna Ssemakula, who is the NRM Candidate vying for LC 5 Chairperson, Mukono District, and of NRM presidential candidate Yoweri Museveni, they were attacked by a gang of people dressed in NUP party colours T-shirts.

 

The Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Patrick Onyango says the attackers were armed with pangas, hoes, stones, sticks and injured three people include Nuru Naluyima (36), Sandra Naiga (22) and Ronald Masanso (20).

 

He says the victims sustained multiple bruises all over their bodies whole Motor vehicle Toyota Hiace, which was carrying the said posters was damaged.

 

The suspects are being charged with attempted robbery, malicious damage to property and assault, but the State Attorney will determine the appropriate charges as Onyango explains in his voice.
