The NRM Central Executive Committee –CEC scheduled this week after the cabinet meeting on Monday, is said to effect changes in the appointment of new parliamentary committee chairpersons and their vices which has already delayed parliamentary businesses.

Parliament last week was supposed to constitute committees and their chairpersons but NRM had not appointed theirs, causing the Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga to postponed the process to this Thursday.

It’s rumored that those who voted against the lifting of the presidential age limit will miss on the appointments.

Among those who voted against the age limit include the chairperson of parliamentary Education committee also Mbale district woman MP Connie Ggaliwango, Chairperson of Parliamentary Agricultural Committee and also Pader woman MP Lowila Oketayot plus her vise Robert Migadde.

According to the Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga, a total of 317 MPs voted in favour of the motion to lift the age limit of 75 years for persons seeking to run for the presidency, while 97 members voted against the proposal. Two members abstained serious injuries.
