NGOs call for investment in Karamoja region

Some of the Non Government Organizations NGOs advocating for social transformation have urged both local and foreign investors to exploit the virgin investment opportunities in the Karamoja Sub-region.

They explain that Karamoja has an immense potential to produce food not just for the region but for the whole country because of the fertile and virgin land in the sub-region.

Professor Gudula Naiga Basaza, the founder of Gudie Leisure Farm an enterprise targeting transformation of                                                                                                      smallholder farmers (SHF) into eco-entrepreneurs notes that there are many natural resources in Karamoja region from minerals to reach culture, good food among others.

Prof. Gudie told the media from his Leisure Farm head offices in Najjera a Kampala suburb that they have organized Karamoja Spotlight in Kampala aimed at changing the mindset of the society to see Karamoja as a potential investment area for hospitality, tourism, cultural diversity, farming among others.

At the same press briefing the Executive Director Africa Leadership Institute David Pulkol from Karamoja explained that the government has stabilized the area.
