Police in Namisindwa are searching for the killers of a 55-year-old woman who was murdered at her home.

Aidah Sisangi, a resident of Nabwela Cell, Bumbo Town Council in Namisndwa district, was allegedly killed by unknown assailants on Wednesday night.

According to Rogers Taitika, the Elgon Region Police Spokesperson, residents heard an alarm from Sisangi’s home around 11:45pm, prompting them to intervene.

They found her helpless and bleeding, with several deep cuts on her head and neck.

Taitika says a murder case has been registered at Namisindwa Central Police Station, and Police Officers have commenced investigations and the hunt for the suspects, while the deceased’s body is at Namisidwa Hospital mortuary pending a postmortem examination.

Aaron Sibakha, the Bumbo Town Council Chairperson, said the suspects reportedly used machetes to inflict bodily injuries and later fled the home, leaving Sisangi in a pool of blood.
