The Mufti of Uganda Sheikh Shaban Mubajje has condemned the ongoing conflicts in different parts of the world which have led to untold human suffering.

He points out conflicts like the Russia-Ukraine war, the situation in Palestine and the recent chaos that broke out in the Sudan.

This was contained in his Eid el-Fitr message at the Gaddafi National mosque at Old Kampala as he led the celebration to mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan in which Muslims fast.

The Mufti also reiterated his call to President Museveni to sign into law the Anti-Homosexuality Bill 2023 which was passed by Parliament last month.

His call comes after the NRM Parliamentary Caucus chaired by President Museveni yesterday resolved to return the Bill to Parliament for review.

Mubajje also asked Government to review it’s poverty alleviation programs to ensure that they do benefit Muslims too as most times they are locked out due to the involvement of interest which is prohibited in Islam.

While concluding, the Mufti thanked all organizations which have aided Muslims as they observed their fast.
