The Mufti of Uganda, His Eminence Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubajje has mourned the passing of veteran radio broadcaster and politician Haji Abdul Nsereko.
In a brief statement, the Mufti notes with sadness the passing of the late Nsereko, saying that he will be remembered for his dedicated service to Uganda and Islam as his religion.
He also hailed his dedication to the development of the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council as the umbrella body of Muslims in Uganda since its inception in 1972.
Sheikh Mubajje expressed his sincere condolences to Hon. Muhammad Nsereko, the Kampala Central Member of Parliament, his siblings and the larger family of the deceased.
The late Nsereko served as a broadcaster at Radio Uganda, Uganda Television-UTV and later Star TV where he hosted several programs.
He also once served as a speaker at the defunct Kampala City Council.
