Parliament’s budgetary committee has rejected to approve the 11.5gnshs supplementary budget that has been requested by State House.

A team from the Office of the President led by the State Minister for Economic Monitoring Kasirivu Atwooki, and state house financial controller Lucy Nakyobe today appeared before the committee chaired by Amosi Lugoloobi to defend the supplementary but no supporting documents were availed.

However, the committee also learnt that the money requested for had already been spent without parliamentary approval as contrary to the Public Management Financial act.

The requested money include 1.5bnshs for the concluded Africa Now Conference recently held at Munyonyo Resort hotel and also the Kyankwanzi retreat in which Special Force Command (SFC) had to purchase classified equipments.

Yet, the 10bn is for purchasing Okello house at Nakasere which is currently occupied by State house operatives.
