Police have dismissed claims that military men raided the home of the Former Leader of Opposition Winnie Kiiza in Ki-bu-rara, Kisinga Sub-county Kasese.

Last evening, Kiiza the Kasese District Woman MP posted on her Facebook page noting that her home in Kasese had been invaded by nine men dressed in military uniform and earlier on Friday still two military officers raided the same home purportedly targeting her husband.

Kiiza’s husband Yokasi Bwambale Bihande, is the former Bukonzo County East legislator and two-term district chairman Kasese.

However, in a statement released this morning by Police Spokesperson Emilian Kayima, the allegations are untrue and baseless.

He added that following the allegations the regional police commander visited the home and Bihande was in the house but declined to talk to Police.

However, Kayima says that the Regional Police headquarters has decided to open a General Enquiry File to investigate the allegations.
