The Namugongo Martyrs Shrine Rector Rev. Fr. Vincent Lubega has assured children that their stepping at the holy site of the Uganda Martyrs at Namugongo will increase their faith.

Fr. Lubega states that it is important for children to know and understand who the Uganda Martyrs are, and why they are praised so that their faith increases and they become their ambassadors wherever they will be.

He made these remarks at Namugongo before the children who have made their pilgrimage at the martyrs’ site from different parts of the country ahead of the June 3 annual Uganda Martyrs day celebrations.

He asked them to understand that each step they make to the holy land means making commitment to their God like the Uganda Martyrs did.

Meanwhile, the Member of Parliament for Kagoma North Constituency, Alex Brandon Kintu has stressed that it is important for the children to make their pilgrimage alone, for them to have enough time to learn about the Uganda Martyrs.

He said this at Martyrs Shrines Namugongo where he was the Chief Pilgrim at the official pilgrimage of children.

Some children who spoke to Radio Sapientia said they have learnt a lot adding that if this can continue, as the future generation they will grow in faith and follow in the footsteps of the Uganda Martyrs.
