The Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago has asked the government to stop contracting Companies which don’t meet standards to deliver quality services as required.
The lord Mayor made the remarks while addressing suppliers who have been contracted to render various services to the Kampala Capital City Authority in Kampala.
He says KCCA will not tolerate companies that are delivering substandard work after being contracted.
He says companies which are engaging in road construction in the city the Majority of them are doing a disservice to the community as well as to the government because, most of them delay to finish their contracts and in the process they ask the government to compensate them for the period lost .
He says this will not be tolerated, instead they should deliver quality service because the service they were contracted to do is not charity work and therefore it should be commensurate with the money being paid to them.
The conference was running under the theme the impact of the PPD amendments Act 2003 on the procurement of works and consultancy services.
