Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has listed four areas on the list of his priorities as he assumes the new office as the commander for the UPDF Land Forces.

At a brief ceremony held at the Land Forces headquarters in Bombo this afternoon Muhoozi as he took over office from Maj Gen Peter Elwelu who was elevated to deputy Chief of Defence Forces in the UPDF, said he has been given four issues;

Enhancing combat capabilities, addressing the welfare deficit of the troops by improving accommodation and living standards, ensuring the health of the army officers especially in these challenging times and above all intensify political education.

Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, who also serves as the Senior Presidential Advisor on Security saluted the commander in chief General Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for the new leadership he has given him promising never to shame him but also he will always look for his predecessors for inspiration and guidance.

He maintained that although the threats might have changed but the goal of defending the independence and sovereignty of this country remains the same and the work starts now.
