The leader of the opposition in parliament Mathias Mpuuga together with a delegation of opposition MPs while visiting the two jailed opposition MPS Muhammad Ssegirinya Kawempe North and Allan Ssewanyana Makindye west at Kigo prisons, has vowed to change in the approach of demanding  justice and speedy trial of the MPs.

Yesterday marked exactly one year since the two opposition MPs were jailed on charges of murder, terrorism and facilitating the killings of people in Masaka (Bujjambiya) but no charges or evidence has been tabled by government in court.

Speaking immediately after visiting the two MPs at Kigo government prison in Wakiso district, Mpuuga said that the crime the two MPs are being persecuted for is their political belief and ideology.

Mpuuga has also decried the prisons authorities for denying treatment to the two MPs despite the court directive which allowed them access to private medication.
