Government has declared it illegal for the recruitments of domestic workers through Kenya after discovering a number of Ugandans being trafficked to Middle East by illegal Kenyan companies.

The Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force Coordinator in the Ministry of Internal Affairs Moses Binoga says that unlicensed Kenyan recruitment agents collaborate with their counterparts in Uganda to snick Ugandan girls with fake passports to Kenya where they later pick and traffic them to Arabian countries.

This comes after last month; Ugandan and Kenyan Police have just rescued seven Ugandan young ladies from illegal recruiting company identified as Ufunua Resource Agencies Nairobi when they were in transit to Oman.

Binoga says in the previous six months, 48 human trafficking cases were recorded and 12 victims rescued yet they filed 17 cases in court of which 9 were intercepted at the airport Entebbe while 8 were attached to Karamoja- Kampala recruitment.

He explains that using social media platforms, these companies through their agents announce jobs abroad attracting many youths, but end up dumping them in Middle East countries. He says that Jomo Kenyatta International Airport is the most used by the Kenyans while trafficking people.

Meanwhile, the Police Spokesperson Asan Kasingye cautions Ugandans to be conscious of those recruitment agencies which use shortcut routes and roads while taking workers to Arabian countries for work.

He says they still have the seven girls rescued from Kenyan recruitment agency waiting for their guardians.
