The Katikiro of Buganda Charles Peter Mayega has praised God for the gift of life he has granted His Eminence Emmanuel Cardinal Wamala who is making 93 years in December this year.
Mayiga who had paid a courtesy visit to Cardinal Wamala at his residence the priestly center Nsambya thanked those who are taking care of him making it possible to always share the love, experience and wisdom from Cardinal Wamala at any moment you meet him.
A companied by his wife Mayega exchanged pleasantries with the Cardinal
Mayega described Cardinal Wamala as an exemplary leader who served with humility and wisdom, a person who always helped the person in pain to get relief and understanding which qualities should be emulated by all Ugandans.
Cardinal Wamala said August 15th is a special day for him it was the same date in1957 when he got ordained to deaconate at Rome and on the same date he was installed the archbishop of Kampala in 1990.
Cardinal Wamala hailed Katikiro Mayega for his love to him and also acknowledged his services in Buganda Kingdom.
He also thanked God for his life. Cardinal Wamala severed as Archbishop of Kampala for 16 years until 2006 when he retired.
